fill in the blankie

I have quite a few baby showers in the next few months and this gift is so personal that it will be perfect for a few of them. Fill in the Blankie is a great company that offers hand-made blankets for new little ones that can be completely customized–we are talking every edge of this blanket {200 characters!} You could include a favorite song lyric, birth date, name, anything under the sun. Get ready to spend some time deliberating on the perfect combination because they offer (39) baby blanket styles/colors,  (27) fonts & (18) thread colors, each one more adorable than the next. {Did I mention they are perfectly priced as well?} They have a great gallery to get your creative juices flowing if you need some inspiration.

if you want to include birth date, weight, and special details it can make a create Christening gift as well.

love.

how adorable is this pattern?

i love the idea of including a favorite nursery rhyme

getaway

I am off for a quick late summer getaway to Stowe Mountain Lodge for a long weekend with my favorite boy. I am hoping summer stays around a bit longer but I cant wait to spend some time enjoying a hint of fall this weekend. I hope your weekends are wonderful, here are some of my favorite finds from around the web this week.

a warm welcome

Welcoming your  guests with a nice gift bag is such a lovely way to thank them for traveling all the way to celebrate your wedding weekend with you. There are a few key components to making a great welcome bag, but the best part is that they can so easily be customized to best suit your guests. If you are assembling them for your lucky guests the traditional rule of thumb is to have them for all out-of-town guests. Most hotels will deliver them for you to the guest’s rooms, or present them to them at check-in. Here is a little assembly guide to get you started. {and what we used in our welcome bags for each category}

packaging: pick a tote, a gift box, or even a beach bucket to hold all your goodies {we found mini totes with a Newport pineapple on them}

sweet tooth: have local candies, some bubbly, or homemade treats

trinkets: something to remind people of the wedding destination after they leave town. {we included take home Del's lemonade mixes and to-go containers}

some direction please: maps, local guides, and weekend itineraries tuck right inside. {we included our trolley schedule, a local map, and a tour guidebook of Newport}

finishing touches: add some waters, snacks, or a thank you note to the bag {we had homemade cookies from my aunt, custom waters, and a list of our favorite Newport things to do}

our finished welcome totes for the wedding day!

it’s the weekend!!

Or my weekend at least! I am enjoying three days off in Newport with friends & family, beach time, cocktails, and a fabulous party sprinkled in on Sunday night. I am thinking that Mrs. Lilien’s lovely board below may be in order at some point this weekend. Wherever your weekend takes you I hope it is perfect!

until Monday….

society social

It is official, I am in love with bar carts. I love how unique theach one can be, how they can make the corner of a room so colorful, and that they can transport you back in time to the 1950’s in your modern home.

I am even more in love with society social. If you have not already read their emag {the magalog}  please stop whatever you are doing and go now! {you are welcome for your morning distraction} After you have come down from all that eye candy it gets even better, they opened their online doors yesterday to a new shop where you can buy so many of the beautiful pieces they used in the mag. Good luck trying to decide which one, which color, where to keep them all. The most important question is what fabulous drinks will you stock on your new cart, and when is the christening party?

you're invited.

I came across this image and instantly wanted to pull up a seat at this dinner party. I imagine being surrounded by my favorite people, a margarita or two, and celebrating the end to another fabulous summer at this table.  If you feel just as inspired re-create the table by incorporating some similar items I found below. Cheers!
