Gifted: Bride to be

In honor of Wedding Wednesday today’s Gifted Series will be for the bride to be. The holidays are a perfect time to give her something special to highlight this year in her life, and maybe even make planning a little easier {or at least more fun!} Starting with a oppulent stationary set from Ceici Style {in her new last name initial perhaps}, or a subscription to my new favorite wedding magazine, Southern Weddings. A classic Ban.do headband can be worn long before and after the wedding day. My personal favorite is the monogrammed needlepoint loafers, these take some time to make so ordering them early is key! I  also adore the simple “Mrs” necklace {kate, of course} and the ever handy bible by Amy Vanderbilt– this roundup is perfect for your alter bound girlfriends.

Gifted: Techies

I love technology. I am the first to admit I am an early adopter to most things new and fun that need to be charged each night. This holiday season there is no shortage of them and in my techie gift roundup you’ll find my favorites-from stocking stuffers, to perfectly impractical desk accessories–something for every geek on your list!

The minimergency kits full of must haves for office slip ups, and ipod speakers will tuck nicely into any stocking. I am in love with the tocky–a run away alarm clock to have to chase to turn off {bonus: you’ve already begun your AM workout by the time you catch him} Also, every girlfriend of mine could use the gmail shortcut keyboard, making daily gchat even easier, And do not get me started on the peacock lollipop desk decor…Jonathan Adler you make work so much more colorful!

Gifted: Cooks and Foodies

All of these gifts are perfect for kitchen lovers of all sorts, some whimsy, some on the more practical side but all of them perfect gifts for the season. My personal favorite, the soup and sandwich duet plate {which, in my opinion is depicted here in a much more useful format, ice cream and cake!} Kitchen gifts can easily be translated into hostess gifts as well..this time of year having an arsenal of those handy is key!

Gifted: Coffee Table Books

I love finding a good coffee table book as a gift, and with so many people on your list this time of year it is such a wonderful option to keep in mind. From cookbooks, to a hardcover showpiece on art, travel, photography, fashion, you name it they are a wonderful gift and one that will certainly be appreciated and on display for years to come. We have quite a collection in our home, and I would *love* this leucite table to display them in {someday}.

let’s dish: fun food trends

If every menu was up to me I would serve only small plates, cocktail stations, and appetizers all the time. I love the variety they offer and all the endless ways you can incorporate your theme and get creative with the presentation of them.  Some of my favorite new food trends are below, they could easily be incorporated into a corporate cocktail party, a wedding, or even a dinner party at home.

orange you glad? monochromatic sweets and savory treats--who can resist circus peanuts? Perfect for a mid-day meeting break.

wedding wednesday {a cape cod affair}

This summer I was able to assist in planning a gorgeous wedding at a private residence on the cape. With a stunning bride, the amazing setting, and an adorable bridal party this truly was one of the most classic cape weddings I have ever seen. We combined in season blue hydrangea, galvanized buckets, and a logo for all of the stationary items and favors to tie in the nautical theme throughout the day.  We divided the property into three sections using the shell driveway for the ceremony, the side lawn for cocktails, and the main yard for the dinner and dancing tent. Guests danced the night away on the point, and left with a sweet treat {delicious s’more favors} after a beautiful evening!

a beautiful bride!
