Denim & Diamonds: A Winter Mitzvah

The lovely family I worked with on a winter Mitzvah last year sent me the images from the day, taken by the fabulous (and newly married!) Melissa Robotti last March. The theme of “Denim and Diamonds” was set for the evening with custom sequin linens and a purple and silver color palette throughout the room. Floral mannequins were created by the team at KOR floral to mimic the girl of honor, in custom jeans accented with her logo in rhinestones on the denim. Concepts that carried through the space included purple rock candy accented small arrangements that also matched the nontraditional candle lighting display. The entire evening was a perfect party for the adults and kids alike, these images capture all of the event details perfectly!

Beach Baby Q Bash!

A few weeks ago I shared the invitations for the baby shower we threw for a wonderful new mommy to be in Newport, RI. The entire shower had a casual feel, with bbq snacks and sippers, lots of time to mingle and catch up outside on the beach, playing a game of corn hole, or just relaxing inside. We invited the men to join as the evening went on and everyone had a great time celebrating Baby F! Some of my favorite details are below from the day.

Gifted: For brides, hostesses, & you!

How darling are these trays from Parker & Rain? Each and every one just has so much personality it is hard to chose a favorite. I must say if that flamingo tray made its way to my coffee table I would be a very happy girl. These unique designs are all available in their etsy shop and would make a perfect gift for a shower, or a hostess gift for the lovely summer house that you call your second home during these months. Which one is your favorite?

Inspired Baby Shower

I get to see a dear friend today who is just about to pop with her first new little one. They are waiting to find out what they are having so I was inspired today by this very chic DC Baby Shower that would be perfect for a boy or a girl on the way. Every detail of this shower is perfect- the calligraphy menu cards, the build a library for the new baby, and the perfect use of florals to accent the guest tables. It was all inspired by a Kate Spade color palette, so what is not to love!  I would love to pull up a chair {and mimosa} to this perfect party!

let’s dish: fun food trends

If every menu was up to me I would serve only small plates, cocktail stations, and appetizers all the time. I love the variety they offer and all the endless ways you can incorporate your theme and get creative with the presentation of them.  Some of my favorite new food trends are below, they could easily be incorporated into a corporate cocktail party, a wedding, or even a dinner party at home.

inspired by: Halloween

Now that fall is here to stay, what a wonderful time to start planning all of those fun Halloween get togethers. We have friends here in Boston who go all out with an amazing party for the adults while all the kids trick or treat and they always have great decor for the evening. I think if we were hosting a Halloween party of our own I would incorporate some of these fun, quirky accents below. These could be used easily for a Halloween party, shower for the right bride or mom to be, or as a hostess gift for your spooky hosts!

farewell summer

I guess this weekend makes it official, summer is ending. It has been a wonderful summer here in New England and I wish it would stay a little bit longer, but I do love fall {foliage, football games, warm sweaters, and boot season} so that gives me something to look forward to. To bid summer 2011 farewell I wanted to share some of my favorite details of summer events I have seen over these past few months. Until next year summer, don’t stay away too long!

Enjoy your long holiday weekend.

society social

It is official, I am in love with bar carts. I love how unique theach one can be, how they can make the corner of a room so colorful, and that they can transport you back in time to the 1950’s in your modern home.

I am even more in love with society social. If you have not already read their emag {the magalog}  please stop whatever you are doing and go now! {you are welcome for your morning distraction} After you have come down from all that eye candy it gets even better, they opened their online doors yesterday to a new shop where you can buy so many of the beautiful pieces they used in the mag. Good luck trying to decide which one, which color, where to keep them all. The most important question is what fabulous drinks will you stock on your new cart, and when is the christening party?

I came across this image and instantly wanted to pull up a seat at this dinner party. I imagine being surrounded by my favorite people, a margarita or two, and celebrating the end to another fabulous summer at this table.  If you feel just as inspired re-create the table by incorporating some similar items I found below. Cheers!

pool chic

Everyone insists on reminding me that summer is winding down {didn’t it just get here?} but I am crossing all crossables for an indian summer here in New England to enjoy the sunshine just a little bit longer. I have found myself recently inspired by unique pool decor used for events and weddings in many unique ways. If your venue has a pool in the layout, use it to your advantage, you can add some fun personal details to make the event even more special and memorable for your guests!
